Questions

Inferred things become questions, never facts. When evidence suggests something but does not establish it, memcal records durable typed uncertainty instead of guessing — and the agent asks rather than asserts.

Durable, not decorative

Open questions are typed state with evidence, not prompt decoration. When a new conversation may affect one, memcal shows the question beside that evidence and records an explicit keep, amendment, answer, or closure. A deferred question can carry a wait condition; loose word overlap alone does not answer it.

Some observations cannot be placed yet — "that's cancelled," naming no plan and no day. Those are kept with their evidence rather than dropped or written as an invented event, retried as later traffic arrives, and turned into a question when more than one plan could be the one meant.

The nosy layer, without push infrastructure

The "Ask about" block in the brief is how curiosity works with no notification system: questions wait in context until the next conversation. The dream pass revisits them each night against the day's traffic, and daytime freshness can surface a question beside new activity in its thread.
